When attached to your dog's harness it works with the inertia system of the car seat belt. This means that it slots onto the seat belt itself and it locks in the event of heavy braking or rapid movement.

The dog seat belt clip is a very strong and sturdy aluminium alloy and can also be clipped onto a strap or ring by pressing a spring lever.

The clip is 12.5 cm long and 7 cm at the widest part and is very easy to put on and take off. It is designed to fit all seat belts and all harnesses, collars etc.

This device relies on the strength of your existing seat belt. You can also choose to add an additional strap between the clip and harness if required. Please do make sure that your dog is comfortable at all times.

To fit, all you need to do is slide the dog seatbelt clip onto your car seat belt. There is a gap at the top of the clip, which allows you to do this. Once in position, press on the spring lever to open the clip and attach this to the harness or device ring. Your dog will enjoy a little freedom of movement as the seat belt moves slightly. However, in the event of sudden braking the seatbelt will lock in the same way it does for any adult wearing a seat belt.
